Our Purpose

Those of you who have been to a fencing tournament know well how difficult it is to locate a specific fencer in a room/building full of people dressed identically. If the fencer is on a team or from a club with specific socks or patches, you're in luck! Scan the floor for socks or upper arms/knickers for patches and you may actually find your fencer!

Team or club patches and socks are a way to graphically unite a group of fencers, signifying an identity through their affiliation with one another. These items are a modern interpretation of heraldry as a identifying force in battle. This tradition is carried on in the military, in police, fire, and emergency rescue units, and in sports teams.

You may have noticed cool socks and patches with which you are not familiar and wondered "Damn, those socks and patches are cool, to what team do they belong?"

Club patches.

This fencing academy has two sets of patches, the adult (rectangular) patches, and the child (oval) patches. The adult patches come in a range of colors and are not ranked by ability level the way the child’s patches are.
